So about myself. Im a 27 Year old (who looks not a day over 21) Ive been riding bikes since I was a little one. I have always owned a bike but this is my first fixed gear. No need to dwell upon this for everything shiny and pretty. It's just embarrassing and silly. Let's talk Fixed Gear. I haven't been so excited by anything in ages. Amazing that the fad is evolving in a city with limited cycle lanes. I mean I'm crazy about my bicycle because it's makes me smile when i ride, it gets me places bypassing disgusting traffic jams, it keeps me fit for free and it's environmentally friendly. It's just the pain of cycling on side-walks alongside pedestrians in some parts of town. This brings us back to the topic of Fixed Gear. Perfection of simplicity, this is a fixed gear bike with a flip-flop rearwheel. And although you can get a ready-made model, it seems much more fun to customize - or even make one from scratch. also love this web site already.. later haters :cyclops

whats going on joe! welcome aboard. I feel happy when I ride my back as well. Feel free to post what you want when you want and whatever you want haha

First of all, welcome! Second, are you going for the Langster Steel?

no, not steel - just the pre-packaged one at the bike shop. i like the chicago cuz i like the bullhorns, but i found a san fran for 600 bux new in box - so im considering that, even tho i dont like the hippy-font on the bike.. the price is right.

im in the steel vs aluminum debate as well. my DJ'er is steel and i love it - but i like the rigidity of aluminum on the roads i dont mind a little punishment in trade for the responsiveness.. also money is a factor!

Hi. I'm Ricky. I've been riding fixed gears for about 2 weeks now. I got a bike on Ebay for 100 bucks, but then it broke when I was about to hit the strand, so I had to walk home.

I'm probably gonna upgrade to a Kilo or something comparable. Or I could just fix it. Or I might just quit riding and start rollerblading.

If I get roller blades their going to be fixed of course.

Ahoy,
Ted here from Golden Hill. Been riding fixed conversions around down/middletown since '08. I build on the cheap and ride till the (often mismatched) wheels fall off. Currently on a early 80's 58cm Fuji Team.

See ya 'round.

balzy - jumpin a 7, 8 or 10 on my DJ is one thing - but on the fixed is a little nutty - ill have to wait a bit till i start launchin - im 6-2 and 205 so that plays a part on how my parts react to my punishment...

welcome...
