| Hey guys, I need a little lesson on cranksets/arms.
Basically, I was going to try to salvage the crankset that was on the bike, since I'm on a budget. Long story short, I was riding the other day and the pedal straight up fell out of the arm. I had to stop and find it. When I looked in where the pedal used to be attached I realized it was so stripped it wasn't even funny. So I'm scouring ebay for a cheap crank.
If i'm planning on getting a new bottom bracket anyways, how can I tell if the crankset I buy is going to fit? Will I just have a compatible bottom bracket installed? Are there any instances where a crankset won't be compatible with my old road frame?

| Most crank arms are designed to work with a certain length spindle. | |

| The spindle length depends on the bcd of you cranks. Bigger bcd = longer spindle.
You should most likely go with a 130 bcd crank set becauseit would be cheaper and you could go w/ a 103mm-105mm bb.
Bcd if you don't know is the diameter of the 5 bolts on your chain ring.

| You should find out what length spindle is needed for your new cranks, then find the appropriate bottom bracket | |
