| Hey guys. I haven't posted in a while. Mostly cause I've been out RIDING. Just kidding. But seriously. I just finished building my bike and I started riding daily and i finally got some straps in the mail today. So naturally I went out in the alley and tried to skid. I just. Can't. Do. It. I don't understand. I'm going decent speed. I'm locking my legs. I'm close to the bars. I need your help. Tips. Suggestions. Anything. | |

| Have you tried to pull up your highest foot against the straps? I don't know if that helps because I just started skidding as well. Let me know how it goes!
Also, you can always search youtube for a visual.

| I have to ask that everyone disregard this thread. I spent an hour today at a local baseball field and learned to skid in the dirt. Then spent the next 2 hours skidding all over the neighbor hood. Way too much fun. | |

| leg-overs are scary... especially through-frame leg overs. go learn skip stops and the ted shred too... skip stops are very useful for speed checks since you dont have to throw yourself all the way forward. the Ted shred is when you stand on your rear wheel to skid or regulate speed. its useful if you break a chain or your straps when you are riding brakeless. have fun and be safe! | |

| Leg over skids are not a joke, haha (but i still laugh). One time I tried it and my foot got caught in my front wheel's spokes. The spokes slammed my foot right into my fork as the wheel came around. I went flying over my bars, my bike landed on top of me and I swear it felt like I tore or broke something, but I didn't. It just hurt really really bad, haha. Ended up braking two spokes and bending another. I came out of it with some scrapes. My wheel got the worst of it.
This story isn't meant to scare anyone, you just have to have the right technique. I learned from that crash and now I can do them with confidence!! You learn from your mistakes, haha.
