| It was bound to happen sometime.
Wal-Mart is now selling a "fixed-speed" bicycle.
Check this and this out.

| Your crank set and back wheel will prolly snap off the first time you try to skid. Seems like a good deal, but i didn't read the specs or anything. | |

| ^ agreed. wouldnt trust any of the parts. also, side note. im not a fan of things i like getting mainstreamed. also side note. cool that theyre spreading the word of fixed gear. confused? yes i know. im good at that. also, prolly started because of the great trail rider Chris Akrigg. if you dont know him, hes dipping into fixed gear every now and then, heres a link to his first sessh on a Fixed. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]EDIT; started because walmart is infamous on selling mongoose and Chris rides mongoose | |

| It was bound to happen. 2 or 3 years ago 90% of fixed gear bikes were build-ups or OG track frames and conversions. now (much like I did) one can walk into any LBS and pick up a fixed with flip flop hub and decent parts made for the fixed target market.
Mongoose used to be the shit when i was 8 years old and riding BMX, now they are majority shite department store bikes.
I hate Wal-Mart and i do not shop there becuase they have horrid policy on how they treat employees, but even if i did, a $149 bike is not a bike i want to be on heading down Park Ave downhill at 25MPH when the fork snaps because the shitty welds on a $149 complete couldnt hold up to a slight bump in the road... NO THANKS!

| wow...just wow. but yeah, like it was said before. i don't know if i would trust the parts on that thing. i guess we'll just have to wait for the reviews to come out on it. it might make a really good "my first fixie" bike. | |
