| so i was moving crap all day into my new pad and didn't ride at all, my friends came over to help out (what are friends for right) and my buddy Zach is inspecting my bike(because its close to godliness)and goes whoa what happen to you spoke, i then replied WHAT HAPPEND TO MY SPOKE and i look done and a spoke on the rear wheel (at the hub) broke in half, my question is HOW THE HELL Does that HAPPEN!!!?!?! | |

Maybe something hit it from an unanticipated (not tension up or tension down) direction.
I wonder if the tension on the spokes in the wheel was too low or too high to start with. | |

| spokes break - you're just a hammer on the bike man! 20 bux for a single spoke and a true? try EPIC bikes in westmin on magnolia at the 405. local BMX shop that if fixed-friendly. prolly charge you 10 bux OTD... | |

| well so went to install the new spoke started to tru the wheel and *SNAP* another spoke bites the dust. fml | |

they can be too tight. but since they rub together and are susceptible to friciton and flexion they break. maybe you are laced up a little too tight - thats not good cuz you will only start breakign more the more you start pulling on the rum during truing... it may be time to bite the 25 dollar bullet and re-build the wheel. but then you could pick color-coordinated spokes and nipples... haha. | |

i hear on the broke tip... we all broke these days.... :-( search YouTube for "How to lace a bicycle wheel" [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]a 3-cross is the most common. if you can at least lace it right, then the true is much cheaper... like 12 bux or something. whenever i need to learn something - i try YT first... theres LOTs of bored people who are proud of their accomplishments and so they share it on YT! haha. | |

| rad will do, i love that site, anyhow i found a 700c with tube and tire for 40 dollars at orangecountyfixed.com so mnaybe that will be cheaper | |
